Etude House Sweet Eye Cupcake Eye shadow in: #1 banana & chocolate

As much as I love shopping online for Asian beauty finds, it is always really sweet to find a local dealer as well. I stumbled upon this really great shop called Umi & Co. which carries the most Korean make-up and skincare I have yet to find in both cities that I live in.

I noticed that the store predominantly carries Etude House and Laneige skin care products. There is also quite a selection of BB creams! The best thing about being able to buy a BB cream in store is that you get to test it and match it to your skin tone. This is not something you can do unfortunately when buying one online and a lot of places don't let you return it for reasons such as mismatching etc.

I bought this really cute Etude House Eye Shadow which comes housed in a little tin which looks like a cupcake lol.

Right off the bat, you will notice that this eye shadow is of the mineral variety. It immediately reminded me of MAC's Mineralize eye shadows in terms of pigmentation and colour. The cupcake eye shadow is a lot more smoother and blendable in my opinion. Banana & Chocolate is a really great colour duo in terms of two complimenting colours. I find that this eye shadow is really great for everyday looks.

A look I did using the two shades.

For applications, mineral eye shadows work best with a good eye shadow base and patting the shadow down with fingers instead of a brush. You'll be able to pack more of the pigment this way and get the colour to show up a lot more.

I am really loving this eye shadow and I feel myself wanting to go back and get another colour because the packaging is just so cute. If you are ever around in Edmonton in the Whyte Ave area, Umi & Co. is definitely worth checking out if you need your Asian beauty fix! As well, the shop's curator, Yumi, is super nice and informative about all of the products in the store.

Umi & Co. also sells really cute accessories and jewelry. I picked up these cute earrings that I just had to show off to you all.

And to conclude, this is NOT a sponsored post. Everything was purchased with my own money and opinions are purely subjective on my own experience. This blog is 100% non-sponsored.

  1. I love the packaging so much! (I'm a sucker for cute packaging.) The love earrings are adorable, too.
