So I started following a very special nail polish blog a little less than a year ago known as The Lacquer Tracker. Its writer, Tara, is a very awesome individual who does excellent nail polish reviews and swatches (I could never paint my nails as neatly as her's). She launched her own indie nail polish brand, Pirate Polish, last summer and it has some very very unique shades. I really suggest you all give her blog or Etsy store a visit.
Pirate Polish recently released its Valentine's Day collection and I was instantly intrigued by a particular shade: Be Mine. I have been in the mood for a light/nude shade of pink and was getting quite bored of what the stores offer. As well, I have always been curious about the rapidly-growing indie polish world and I thought what better way to start my adventuring to it than by supporting a fellow blogger. :)
I ordered 2 polishes: Be Mine and Ice Cream Sundae. Tara kindly gifted me a mini ^_^ (thank you so much). The package came quite quickly (keep in mind though that I am only a province away from the seller) and packed safely with bubble wrap in a bubble mailer.
This post will be about Be Mine, a lovely pastel pink with fine gold shimmer.
This polish worked very well upon application. Although it was quite pigmented, I felt comfortable with 3 layers to spread it evenly out. Because of the fine glitter, the finish will not be a typical creme finish, but I find that this does not affect the consistency of the polish. Its drying time was quite fast-I was quite impressed with this.
I simply cannot stop looking at my nails! Sure it may seem like a simple basic colour, but the gold glitter combination is just genius! That's what I love about indie polishes-they are so much more creative than mainstream brands which may just follow trends and re-release colours continually (I'm looking at you OPI...). I highly suggest you check out Pirate Polish's Etsy Store if you would like to pick up your own bottle! The Valentine's Collection is very unique and has something to offer everyone.
And just so you know, these products were purchased with my own funds and my review is as objective as I can make it out to be. :)
I'm happy to see my polish on your gorgeous nails! Thank you for a wonderful review, Vivi, not to mention all the very kind things you've said about my own blog. It's much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteYou bet! It is genuinely one of the best polishes I have ever had the pleasure of using. :)
