Tonymoly Nail Polish in RM01

I have a lovely pink nail polish to review today from the Korean Tonymoly brand. Sadly I don't know if this nail polish has a formal name or if the shade goes by another name (please feel free to correct me if you know), I am just going by what the sticker label says.

I find that RM01 is the perfect pink shade which isn't too cool or warm. It may look very bright in the bottle, but actually pulls off very natural on the nail. I did find application of this polish a little awkward because the brush is stuck onto the circular cap. This may make application a little more hard to maneuver, but I did not experience any major problems while painting. The polish goes on evenly, has no scent and dries very quickly!

The above swatch was done with 2 coats. It dries to a shiny finish but I amplified it more with a top coat. :) I found that this polish lasts pretty well, about a week before any noticeable tip wear.

As much as I liked the formula (and relative "scent-lessness") of this polish, I am not quite satisfied with the cap brush. If there were to change it to something a little easier to grasp, I would be more of a fan of this polish.

Freshlook Colorblends in Honey

Sorry for not posting as regularly as I have last month. This very well might be the next pattern of how my posts will be going up as for the next few months. As well, I haven't really been purchasing new products nor having the time to test out some that I have too. :(

Ever since I re-purchased Freshlook contacts last month, I've been getting really enthusiastic about them. I love the three tone blend, the fact that they are comfortable for hours and the many shades that they come in. The colour today I have to review is Honey, a beautiful warm orange-tinted brown.

These contacts are called honey for a reason. They have an orange burst in the middle which leads to a warm brown shade on the outer rim. As with all of the contacts, there is a light charcoal circle outline, which gives it subtle definition.

A lot of people don't really prefer how orange this colour can show up as in their eyes, but I think that really depends on your own natural eye colour. On dark brown eyes, it is sort of natural, but still stands out. On my own eyes, it pulls off as a warm hazel mix with light brown. It's definitely orange in some lighting though.

I am totally in love with this colour. Although I think it would look phenomenal for those with lighter shades of hair, us brunettes can pull it off just fine. I also think it's a great alternative for some of those really popular circle lenses colours, like Dueba's Puffy 3 tone brown or maybe Neo's Lucky Clover Brown.

To sum, I can see myself repurchasing Honey in the future. :)

nails inc. London Best Sellers Trio

Today, I have a great nail polish set to share with you all. I received this nails inc. trio as a gift a few months ago for my birthday and it was the first time I've ever tried nails inc. nail polishes. As it is my policy now not to review gifts, I will only show you the swatches from this set.

This set contains two colours and one top coat: Porchester Square, Chelsea Square and the caviar top coat.

Porchester Square is a stylish mod grey with a purplish tinge. Chelsea Square is a deep pink/almost raspberry glitter. The Caviar top coat was a bit tinged with pink when I observed it more closely, but goes on clear when you apply it.

I used 2 coats to achieve full coverage. Isn't it lovely? :-) I am very pleased with these colours because they are the kind of colours you can wear anytime of the year and in any situation.

Well that's all for now with my quick blog post.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 047: Pink Lemonade

I'm back today to review the second Lip Butter purchase I made from Revlon's new Spring collection. Naturally, I gravitate towards those baby pink colours since I find they look the most flattering with my day-to-day make-up. I used to love really bright and deep colours, but I find that I am going for more light and natural tones nowadays.

Pink Lemonade is a very light and cool pink-toned colour. Although it's not as blue-based as most blue-pinks, I find Pink Lemonade leans almost towards a frosty white-pink in some lighting. As you can see from the swatches below, it is one of those "barely-there" colours. This doesn't mean it will look like nothing on your lips; it's just that you should not be expecting a lot of pigmentation from it.

Although this is a very wearable colour if you are a big fan of these kind of pinks in general, I find that Pink Lemonade is not a particularly new release compared to what they already have in their collection already. If you already own Strawberry Shortcake or Cupcake, there is really no need to purchase Pink Lemonade, because they are all very similar shades.

So to cap it all off, I really love PL. If you don't have this colour yet in your make-up stash, I really think it's worth checking out. Otherwise, it's pretty much very dupeable.

MAC Lavender Whip Lipstick

It seems as though MAC products have slowly been creeping back to my life again! Once again, I've stopped following the new collections a long time ago, but this lipstick particularly caught my eye among it. I believe this is a re-promotion release of Lavender Whip, a beautiful shade of violet-pink.

Lavender Whip is a Cremesheen formulation, one of the best formulas in MAC's lipstick line (in my own opinion). It looks very cool purple in the tone, but actually is a very wearable colour on lips! On my own lips, it pulls off as an almost bright cool-toned pink with a hint of violet.

As you can see, there is a quite a violet sheen to this lipstick, but it is very subtle and actually quite beautiful. I find that Lavender Whip is perfect for those days when you want a little unconventional colour in your lipstick, but still not wanting to jump into that blue Nicki Minaj lipstick look. :) The colour lasts very well on my lips (3 hours at the least) and feels very moisturizing.

I sense that Lavender Whip is one of those shades that will sell out quickly, so don't hesitate if you want to add it to your make-up collection!

Laneige Infinite Volume Setting Mascara in No. 1 Black Truffle

I find that for most of the time, I am usually quite fortunate with the quality of products. It's only once in a while where one comes up as a dud and I'm sad to report that today's post is going to be one of them.

After sticking with Maybelline mascaras for so long, I was excited to branch out into something different. I have used Laneige's skin care line for a few months now and am quite impressed with the results. I was hoping their make-up would impress me the same just as well, but this did not turn out to be the case. Today's post is about Laneige's Infinite Volume Setting Mascara.

I was told that this is one of Korea's best-selling mascaras and since its price was not the sky-rocket price of higher mascaras (such as Lancome, Chanel etc.), I took a chance and bought it.

As you can see, it does not offer much in terms of volume or length for my already pretty sparse lashes. It does add a bit of definition, but it's not really noticeable as the Volume boosting qualities this mascara claims to have.

The worst thing about this mascara is that it will not hold your curl at all, but I guess it is not a water-proof formula. I found that it tended to flake in my eye throughout the day and was pretty much gone from my lashes by the end of the day. But once again to reiterate, I guess it is due to it not being a water-proof formula.

I tried to like this mascara. I really did. But its troublesome flaking is not going to help someone with sensitive eyes such as myself (as well with being a contact lens wearer and a constant user of eye drops). I guess I'll just keep having to keep on going with my trusty Maybelline...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 027 Juicy Papaya

It looks as though Revlon has released some new lip butter shades for the spring season and of course knowing me, I was pretty excited to try them out. :) I've nearly tried all of the existing shades of the permanent line and it is always nice having some new ones come in every now and then. Today, I will be reviewing Juicy Papaya.

Juicy Papaya is definitely a coral red/pink hybrid tone. When I initially swatched it, I was really afraid that it was going to end up looking orange on me, as the swatch is pretty vivid. Since my lips are naturally pigmented, I find that it really downplays the orange tones and turns out as an overall coral pink/red. It certainly is a "my lips but better" warmer tone on me.

As you can see, it is a lot more orange in the swatch than on my lips. I guess how it turns out will depend on your natural pigmentation, but it is still quite a very daily wearable colour.

I'm really loving this shade. :) I have one more to review next week. Sorry for the short post, but I am off to a weekend trip out of town for a job interview. See you all soon.
